One project we went to for travertine splitface was in Houston and was not very far from the office. We went out to the project just to check out how it was going. On the project that used the 1x2 silver travertine splitface. It was a curved wall so the 1x2 silver travertine splitface is a good product because it is easier to get around a curve on a wall. On this project we drove out and had to get through the gated community with the code. We drove up to the house and the fence was still open because the project was still being completed. They had travertine paver stepping stones leading to the back yard. They were using artificial grass next to the travertine paver stepping stones. We entered into the backyard section and the whole deck was done in travertine pavers. The silver 1x2 travertine splitface was on the columns and also on the curved wall. They also had the silver 1x2 travertine splitface on the raised spa for the surround.
We also had another project with travertine splitface in 2x4 tile. The one huge advantage of using a 1x2 splitface and 2x4 splitface is the ease at which they curve around a wall. In this particular case, we had a flat surface so the customers could have picked the 6x24 splitface. The 6x24 splitface is a multisize piece that does not curve around a wall without breaking the pieces and that creates challenges. Getting back to this job, the deck was covered with travertine pavers and was approximately a 2000 square foot deck. The wall was about 20 square feet and with a smaller wall the 2x4 ivory splitface looked good. This job was also in Houston, Texas. They also used the ivory 2x4 traveritne splitface on the spa surround.
