One of the most popular patterns for travertine pavers is the french patterns.  A french pattern comes with 16x24, 16x16, 8x16 and 8x8 pieces.  A french pattern is 16 square feet.  So you buy them in 16 square foot patterns.  It is an easy way to create a pattern and yet gives you the flexibility to come up with your own special pattern.  The pieces are already cut to size so you can put the pattern together.  They are as easy to install as any other paver.  In fact, it really allows you to give less thought about the pattern.  Once you set the first pattern, you just keep to the same pattern.  There are also Roman patterns that are slightly smaller.  They have 12x12, 6x12 and 6x6 sizes for the Roman pattern.  The Roman pattern is less popular but is available for those who want a smaller pattern.  A person can also create hundreds of patterns using a simple 6x12 piece.
